When I was on a visit to the collection of the Egyptian Museum in Berlin and discovered the statue type of the cube stool there, this kind of 'design language' really appealed to me.

The compactness and sometimes strictly cubic shape of the cube stools, also known as cuboids, had something modern about them for me.
 

...the own form

As I walked through the individual rooms of the exhibition, I made drawings of some of the sculptures.
Inspired by these statues, I decided to create my own version of a block statue – made of clay.
